2016 Decorating and Home Electronic Trends

by Debbie Correale

Decorating Trends2016 has some lovely trends in home decorating ideas and friendly electronic uses. As I described in my article titled, 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year, Pantone has selected Rose Quartz and Serenity (a pale blue with a tendency toward periwinkle) as their colors of the year, and you will see these colors in every room of the home in 2016. Other decorating trends for 2016 include:

  • Mixed metals
  • Fabric wall art
  • Wallpapers that include natural facades, retro looking geometrics with an Asian flair, metallic and matte tones, and combinations of calm and muted colors.
  • Pendant Lights
  • Black metals
  • Rounded Furniture
  • Decorations including brocades, tapestries, fringe, cording and tassels.

These are some of the electronic highlights showcased in the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show:

Family Hub Refrigerator by Samsung

You may want this in your kitchen renovation! Here is some information from Samsung about the Family Hub Refrigerator which sounds amazing:

The Family Hub is just that – a hub of household connections, but with a thoroughly digital twist. All communications are housed and displayed on a 21.5 inch full HD LCD resolution screen located on the upper right exterior door. As the refrigerator’s digital family command center, the screen allows you to post, share and update calendars, pin photos, share treasured kids’ works of art, and leave notes – all with the ease and convenience of your smartphone.” (Article source.)

Personal Lighting System by Hue

Want a different look in your living room whenever you feel like a change? By using an app with the Personal Lighting System from Philips Hue system, you can change the color of the light in a room. Changing the color of the light instantly offers you a different feel to your wall and furniture color! How cool is that?

LG’s OLED 3D TV

If you are planning to purchase a new TV in 2016 or create a “movie” room, consider LG’s OLED 3D TV. It is very thin, and the screen is shaped to your natural field of vision as the product description states, “Witness dazzling images and immerse yourself in lifelike action from any angle.” I bet you didn’t think displays could get any better? This product, based on the description, is stunning.
