Are you expecting overnight guests over the holidays? To help you create a fabulous and inviting experience for your guests, I have detailed tips to freshen up and get your home ready.

Tips for Updating your Home for Guests:

Update your entertainment area!

You can quickly change your entertainment area by adding a pop of unexpected color. Pops of color add visual interest and excitement!

Is your guest room ready?

I suggest walking into your guest room and viewing it from the eye of the visitor. Is it fresh-smelling? Is there a place to put luggage, a place to plug in electronics for recharging, and a place to sit?

If you want to create a fresh look quickly without spending a fortune:

  1. Add a soft and cozy throw to the foot of the bed and a fun textured fur pillow.
  2. If your guest room does not have bedside tables or lamps, be creative and walk around your house and see if there is a table or light that could be temporarily moved for the holidays. Use appropriately sized lamps. When sitting in bed, the bottom of the lampshade should be at the top of your ear. Make sure lampshades and light bulbs match. I love using white or cream shades as they diffuse the best light in the room.
  3. If you find a great table or lamp base with the wrong color, you can spray paint them. Rustoleum Primer & Paint Spray paint is fabulous at resurrecting items and adding an unexpected pop of color to a room.
