Have you been working on your home projects that you always said, “When I get the time, someday, I’ll get to that.†I have been tackling those boxes and have enjoyed reliving some wonderful memories. I have had lots of giggles and tears! I have heard about projects that friends have worked on and wanted to share some tips with you.
Organize Recipes
As I have been cooking more meals at home, I had pulled out some of the old recipes that I made when my kids were young and WOW! they are quite good! I decided to figure out how I could save and easily find these recipes for the future, and came across this article on recipe apps, I’ve tried and enjoyed the Paprika app, and you can easily browse, download, and categorize recipes. Another feature is that you can add your recipes (with photos). For those of you that do not want to use an app, click here for some paper-recipe organizational ideas. Let me know your favorite!
Repurpose Space
I have heard from many of you that you are repurposing space and rooms. If this is a project you want to do, my suggestion is to first come up with a plan. Take the time to draw it out, especially if you are changing the purpose of the room. Take the measurements and determine what furniture, rugs, artwork, storage is necessary to complete your new vision and goal. Keep in mind a fresh coat of paint makes a big difference to the look and feel of a room!
Old photos
Perhaps you inherited a box of old photos, slides, or movies in which case you need to sort through everything and decide what you want to salvage and what respectfully does not need to be kept. For tips on how to begin this project and solutions, click here.
