For those of you who are planning to sell your home in 2014 did you know that after Super Bowl Sunday is considered the start to the best time to sell your home? According to the National Register of Realtors, “Existing-home sales edged up in December, sales for all of 2013 were the highest since 2006, and median prices maintained strong growth.” With this in mind more people will seize this opportunity and put their home on the market. In a controlled setting made by RESA, homes staged sold in 45 days whereas non-staged homes sold in 102 days.
If you are considering selling your home this year, here are a few facts you should be aware of (Source reference):
- Within 7-10 seconds of viewing a home, a potential buyer has formed an opinion if they like your home (or not).
- The majority, 90% of buyers, find homes that they have viewed on the internet.
“The ideal time for staging your home is BEFORE the realtor comes to assess and price your home.” ~ Debbie Correale
What does this mean to you? First impressions are critical! Too often I find sellers don’t see the problem areas because they have lived with it that way for so long they don’t see that it could be a concern to potential buyers. This requires a fresh eye! You need someone who can highlight the potential of your home to help you make the most money!
How does home staging work?
It’s easy and fun process! First, Redesign Right will meet with you and your home for a thorough home staging consultation. During this time, analysis of your home, through the eyes of a prospective buyer, will be done. During the consultation, an honest, objective and thorough “to do” list will be compiled to help you appeal to the greatest number of buyers and sell your home quicker! Redesign Right will be involved in your staging project as much or as little as you want and are comfortable with.
If needed, Redesign Right will come back with a group of certified trained home stagers to create “a model home” in one day starting with what you already own. They will rearrange and remove existing furniture and create the look that will accentuate the positive attributes of your home and appeal to the greatest number of buyers. Their method and process in preparing homes for sale has proven to sell properties faster and for top dollar.
