Flipping through the fall Crate & Barrel catalog I came to a section titled ‘Natural Living’ and thinking about the desire to be warm and cozy this fall I decided this would be a fun blog topic idea! Integrating natural elements into the home adds a warm and calming atmosphere to any room. I love the different textures that can be used to add elegance that only an organic feature can accomplish. Let’s explore some ideas!
I love these items from Crate & Barrel! The wall art in the photo below is made out of acacia wood scraps, and black iron hung in an interesting pattern. The side table lamp, in the middle photo, is extraordinarily unusual with its two-toned linen shade and slate base. If your budget can handle it, the driftwood side table, the far right photo, would be a stunning natural element to a room!
On your travels or walks you have an excellent opportunity to discover nature as art; such as this spiral branch arrangement on a fireplace mantel.
I love this idea as it’s so easy and makes a tremendous impact and can be readily changed with the season! By lining a container with moss and adding fall foliage, gourds, pinecones, etc. you create a one-of-a-kind piece!
Here is another idea from BGH.com, layering different natural elements of your choice to create just the right color and balance. Be sure to choose something tall and light to create the height that you need!
Sometimes it is worth making an investment into one item in your room which makes a statement and adds that ‘wow’ factor! Take this solid wood and metal coffee table from Arhaus.com, which would be stunning in the right setting!
Every room needs to have a place to hide or hold something – these are sturdy rattan baskets that have been tea-stained to bring out the natural colors. I love the one with the lid!  They are versatile and can be used in any room!
In the dining room, as a backdrop to your natural table setting, you could use this natural herringbone table runner from WorldMarket.com. After you have placed this lovely natural runner on your table, fill a wire mesh bowl, basket or wood tray on the runner with an assortment of colorful gourds, using different shapes and colors; you can complete a natural look in your dining room in minutes!
Enjoy these cooler evenings and wrap yourself up in the wonders of fall!
