It’s that time of year when we want to focus on getting our homes ready for the holidays, family, guests and entertaining. Here are some ideas to help you quickly spruce up a room without breaking the bank!
Get rid of clutter and make space for holiday decorations!
Now is a good time to take an overall assessment of your home and remove clutter and excess accessories. Pack up some of the items and make room to showcase beautiful holiday accessories that you cherish.
Is your couch or love seat showing it’s age?
If your couch, chair, or love seat is showing its age, and you are not in the market to replace it before the holidays, a quick way to spruce it up is to add batting or foam. This will instantly fill out the cushions and make them look snappy! Add new decorative throw pillows and you have yourself a beautiful fresh look for the holidays! Click here for an article to give you step-by-step instructions.
Add decorative items that are in style – now!
Have you noticed that Plaid is everywhere this season? Think beautiful Burberry or Pendleton and add touches of plaid in a throw or pillows. Pottery Barn offers an excellent selection, click here to view. Unusual metal items are definitely in style. Go into any Home Goods and you will be amazed at the options! Add a touch of lovely silver, gold, or brushed brass whatever works for you. The metal look could be a vase, a decorative accessory, details in a pillow, or candle holder. Faux fur is everywhere! If you love that look, now is the time to get shopping! Use your imagination and have some fun!
Freshen up your guest room!
I put together an Idea Board on Houzz with some beautiful photos displaying creative ways that you can make the guest bed and freshen up the look in the room. Click here to view the Idea Board.
