As we finish off 2013 and enter 2014, what home renovations or decorating goals have you made for yourself? At the start of any new year, often we set great goals for ourselves.
Sure, there are the usual “Get in Shape†or “Get Organized†type goals, but what about your design goals? Personally, I have found success in setting a goal and breaking it down into attainable steps. Too often we fall short of accomplishing the goals we set as we bite off more than we can chew.
What decorating or renovating goals have you set for 2014? The first step is to figure out what area of your home really bothers you, or you may be tired of, or it needs renovation as your needs have changed.  Maybe it’s simply outdated and needs an updated coat of paint. Frequently, I have had clients who disliked a room, but didn’t know what to do to. In that situation, I would recommend that you seek the help of a re-designer or interior decorator. A re-designer could show you options with the items that you already own and offer a new perspective.
Recently, I wrote a blog post about the advantages of a redesign and would suggest that you read that post titled, “The holidays are coming! Time for a Redesign!â€Â For further information on a redesign and what is involved, click here. For more information on picking a paint color, check out my blog post titled, “Picking a paint color can be intimidating!† If you are looking for some inspiration, click here to read an article from Elle Décor on the spring 2014 color trends. Another great resource for ideas is my Houzz.com account where you can go through many photos and create your own idea book.
