With the start of a New Year, I wanted to offer you some tips in this week’s decorating article on home purchases. In the month of January, the cost of several items is substantially reduced that you may wish to consider. Here are a few:
Linens and Bedding
I love the fact that it was our very own Philadelphian store entrepreneur, John Wannamaker who coined the phrase “white sale†to increase sales of bedding, which was predominantly white after the holiday purchases ended. Carpet and Flooring
The carpet and flooring companies see a big burst of activity before the holidays for those who are trying to update and renovate before the crazy holiday season. Because of this, the industry sees a significant drop in sales at the start of the year and offers discounts for those ready to update their flooring in January.
Furniture
Furniture retailers release their new items a couple of times a year in February and August. Because of this, stores selling furniture want to get rid of old inventory to make room for the new releases. Maybe now is the time to consider replacing the couch in the family room?
