Prepare your Guest Bathroom for the Holidays

Bathroom ready for guests

Is your guest bathroom ready for holiday guests? Take inventory of what you have and whether the arrangement will suit your guests.

Tips to Prepare the Guest Bathroom

Towels and TP

Have a couple of fresh towel sets accessible; you may want to consider getting a new set if your towels are thin or discolored. If you do not have a linen closet in your bathroom, use shelving or add a cabinet. I love this decorative storage ladder or the over-the-toilet ladder from Pottery Barn, where you can use baskets to hold all the extra items.

Always provide extra TP; if you are limited in space, consider a free-standing holder. Be creative with storing and displaying bathroom necessities, hang baskets to serve as shelving.

Wet Towels

If you do not plan to do laundry every day, have a place where guests can hang up their wet towels. If you have no space for a towel bar or wall hooks, add a stand-alone quilt rack or an over-the-door hanger.

Toiletries, Soap, Lotion

How many times have you traveled and forgotten your toothpaste? I always like to provide a small basket of the basics: new travel size toothpaste and brush, mouthwash, sensitive skin makeup remover wipes, deodorant, Q-tips, dental floss, unscented tissues, and a wastebasket. Display a neutral to no-scent hand soap and body lotion on a lovely tray by the sink. Add a floating shelf above the sink if you have no bathroom counter space. For a seasonal touch, add a small vase of fresh flowers that display colors of the season.

Have fun getting your home ready for this exciting time of year! If you need help restyling your home, call me at 610-955-8202 me for a consultation!
