5 Budget-Friendly Ways to Change your Decor

Fall Decorating Tips

Whenever the seasons change, I get that itch to change something in my home; it could be simple, or I want to remodel a room completely. A budget is a constricting factor, and I have a few tips on how to quickly change an area of your home in a budget-friendly way.

5 Budget-friendly tips:

1. Kitchen Lighting

Do you have recessed lights over your island and want a different style? For less than $50, you can convert a recessed light into a pendant light by purchasing a conversion kit.

2. Add 3D Artwork

Do you have a large spot crying out for a piece of art and don’t know what to do? Target has many options if you have a spot you are trying to cover or want to incorporate a metallic into your style! On Amazon, if you search for 3D wall art, there are options from modern wall tiles to wire and metal sculptures that are affordable and would fit into many home styles.

3. Add Storage

How will adding storage help you with your decor? In my experience, one of the issues people have with their homes is either too much stuff or needing a place for everything, which creates clutter and makes you feel unhappy with your home. By visually reducing the number of things around you, you begin to feel lighter and at peace with your home. For example, by adding a storage chest or bench at the foot of your bed, you offer a decorative item to the room and a place to store extra sheets and blankets.

Add lovely baskets or decorative boxes to your living area where you can store extra throw blankets and pillows:

4. Add Fall to Winter Decor

Add a fall centerpiece to your table or a tray on an ottoman or a side table to add fall colors to your home decorating that can transition easily to winter and holiday decorations. Bring in natural elements, using a vase you own, and select swooping or arching foliage that uses the colors you wish to emphasize in a room. Craft stores offer various dried and faux options, or you can use what you have from your backyard!

5. Dress up your Dining Area

Placemats can be pricey; however, they don’t have to be to make a statement. Regardless of who eats at your table, kids or adults, messes and spills will occur. Look for a charger or placemat that is easy to clean. Add a napkin of fall colors to bring it all to life! You will find many options within your budget online and in your local home stores.
