Decorating Your Home with Paint – How to Choose a Color

by Debbie Correale

Moving into a new home can be an overwhelming experience but what a wonderful time to paint and start with a fresh look that you love!  Depending on the size of the room and the amount of light in the room will impact how certain colors look in a room.  How many times have you picked a color (from a 1”x 1” swatch of paint) and disliked the overall feeling on the walls?

I decided to call on the experts to help us with this process of picking the right paint color.  This is what Bonnie Sunday, Division Designer Account Executive of the Sherwin-Williams Company has to say:

Sherwin-Williams has just the thing to help make color selecting easier whether you’re moving into your new place or updating a room.  Our Color Visualizer allows you to picture your space before you paint it.  Simply upload your photo than drag and drop a color or use the brush to paint.  It’s that simple.  Search our entire palette featuring 1,500 colors or use our color collections to find your ideal color.  You can also use the tools to add or remove color, refine edges, add color to trim, touch up your paint job and more.  Once you found the perfect colors you’ll be able to print your work.  The Color Visualizer also includes a coupon to help you get started!

Now that you found the right colors, you’ll need the right paint product.  Sherwin-Williams is proud to introduce our newest product, Emerald.  Emerald is a zero VOC product and meets the most stringent VOC regulations.  It’s also tinted with zero VOC colorants which no other paint company can tint its full line of colors with a zero VOC colorant.  It’s low order with anti-microbial properties that inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the paint film.  It’s also self-priming, with easy application for the most beautiful, durable finish.
