3 Trends in Bathroom Design

I love the new bathroom products that are now affordable and available to homeowners. I wanted to review three spectacular trends in bathroom design.

1. Showers that are easily accessible to anyone are in demand.

The life-cycle shower does not have a threshold making it accessible to everyone with a clean and sleek look.

2. Calm and peaceful bathroom settings that have less stuff and are stylish with simple lines are trending.

You will see more showers that are frameless and easy to access.

3. Homeowners are requesting low maintenance, and easy to clean bathrooms.

You will see bathrooms using large square or rectangular shaped tiles to reduce grout lines, and some are installing contemporary wall panels. Kohler’s Choreograph Shower Wall collection offers a variety of high-end wall panels, to view them click here.

Large scale and 3D tile, such as this Ona Natural tile from Porcelanosa:

Even if you have a small bath area, you can achieve a sleek style using large scale tile and a stationary glass enclosure:

There are many configurations available depending on your bathroom size and requirements. For some inspiration, here are a few ideas to consider.

Tip:  You will see frameless shower doors installed with Clips and U-Channels. Both options support the stationary panels in your shower enclosure. Clips are the favored option because of the sleek look and clean style. The installation is more expensive as holes have to be cut into the glass for the Clips to stay in place. The U-Channel is easier and less costly to install.
