Hiring Redesign Right was the best decision that I made, and I’ve been blessed with Debbie’s guidance styling two homes. I first met Debbie when we were considering downsizing. She quickly & expertly went room by room to advise staging ideas; our house sold in 4 days! She has exactly what I was looking for–energy, enthusiasm, great ideas and a wealth of knowledge and access to anything and everything in the design space. She got me to step out of my preconceived idea of what I thought I wanted for our space. I am so happy she did! Six months later, my husband and I moved into a smaller home and needed to combine styles, with less furniture and décor, for a fresh new feel. It seemed a daunting task to us but not for Debbie! She was instrumental in helping my husband, and I finish several rooms. We had a lot of the core furniture, but the room did not feel “done.” She came up with a game plan, incorporated some of our existing furniture and some new items such as window treatments, rug, lighting, etc. She’s patient and when we didn’t like something, would come back with new options.
I am so impressed with her knowledge and style. Debbie has impeccable taste and an incredible ability to envision how space should be reconfigured and redesigned. She’s easy to work with and is always mindful of our budget. She is flexible in coming up with creative solutions and helping us prioritize, and I especially appreciated the times that she sat us down, explained the motivations behind her design choices, and was honest about the negative ramifications when we were about to deviate from the design specs. Her honest guidance and advice helped us reach a better result than I could have imagined, and I know for sure that I will be contacting Redesign Right first and foremost for my future projects. We are truly enjoying the lovely home we’ve created together. It brings us beauty, comfort, and joy! I highly recommend her and am grateful for her continued support. – Karen S.

“I was so impressed with how hard you worked along with us. Doing the rooms physically ourselves made the difference for me. Watching the look on the woman when she came home was amazing. Your organization and the amount of information you gave us was outstanding. The rules were simple and precise and made the job easy and workable each time.” -PK
In my last Interior Redesign and Home Staging class, I hired a friend to come in and take photos during the redesign. Afterward, she was telling me about the things she learned, and I asked her if she wouldn’t mind writing an article for me that I could share with my readers. It’s fun to hear from an outside observer, and here are her words:
It’s hard work doing a redesign.
Have you watched those design in a day shows where they come in with new furniture and accessories and create a stunning result? Debbie’s challenge is that she works with what the homeowner already owns and has to produce a stunning result in a day! Debbie’s trained eye scans the house for any items, always looking for the right material, color and size to use in a room. The team of redesigners works with what the homeowner already owns, plus any items that they may have purchased for the redesign. Debbie updates the room and offers a fresh look, and the result is incredible to see.
There’s a reason when a room doesn’t look right.
There are rules for where things should and should not be placed. Never in my life have I seen people agonize over an angle of where the couch should go. There are good reasons for this level of striving to get it right; it affects the overall look. To you or I, we eyeball things and decide if it looks good or not. We may not know why or we simply are never happy with the way it looks. There are guidelines to use for size, color, and placement and though I don’t know what the rules are seeing the finished result from a professional redesigner has made me very appreciative of those rules!
Hanging items on the wall should be measured.
I watched a group of redesigners as they planned out, measured, and appropriately hung a gallery wall that looked stunning when completed. Each picture was measured and hung with specific procedures, it was incredible to see the process, and it made me appreciate that just winging it, which has been my general motto, is not the best way to hang anything.
The reveal is just like on TV.
Imagine leaving your house in the morning leaving everything bare, and all your accessories piled in one room and coming home to a different home. It was the most beautiful thing to watch the expression of absolute disbelief as they walk around their house, seeing all of their wonderful things, placed in a fresh and useful arrangement. I’ll have to admit, even a little emotional.
Thank you for your contribution! I always love to hear from other people and listen to what they are thinking and seeing. I realized the other day that I use in my everyday vocabulary words like home staging and redesign all the time and have found that people do not always understand the difference or what they mean. This week’s decorating article will focus on the definition of these terms and how they can potentially impact you.
What is Redesign?
A redesign of an interior of a home or office is a change in the appearance, function, and potentially content. When you contact me to help you with fabric or paint selection, or to help you make a room more useful, appealing, and lovely all of those actions are part of a redesign. A redesign involves working with the items you have and perhaps suggesting items to purchase to complete a finished look. A redesign may include assisting you in shopping for the proper flooring, tile, accessories or furniture.
What is Home Staging?
Home staging involves getting your home ready for sale. Home staging is different than a redesign in that the goal is to amplify the strengths of your home for a potential buyer. Clearing out clutter, maximizing room flow, minimizing the amount of things that are displayed, reducing furniture, removing personal things. All of these activities are included in a home staging. The goal is to present the best features of a home to make the potential buyer walk away with a feeling of, “Yes, I can see my sofa there, I love it!”
I put together a fun video showing you the steps in staging a built-in bookcase where few elements were used, and the result is pleasant to the eye, not distracting, and displays the potential of the bookcase beautifully.
Do you have a girlfriend who has everything and you are always struggling with what to do for her birthday? Or do you have a mother-in-law that is a challenge to purchase anything for – I have a fabulous idea for you! A Room Redesign Gift Certificate!
Keep in mind a Room Redesign is not merely moving furniture around, there is no job too small or too big, and I can help your friend or loved one in many ways, such as:
Selecting paint color
Shopping for or suggesting accessories or furniture
Tips on what to buy to complete a room
Advice on what flooring to use in a new addition or remodel
The process is fun and very easy, and in only a few hours we can help transform any room!

“The decorating in our home never felt pulled together until we worked with Debbie at Redesign Right. She helped us to update our style by suggesting new pieces to work with our existing ones. She helped us to select paint colors that complemented our furniture and window treatments. Then she pulled it all together by adding accessories and arranging pictures. Visitors to our home often said it looked like a magazine!” -JoAnn V.
Do you love home decorating? Are you the go-to friend when someone needs help picking out a paint color, or trying to figure out how to add a piece of furniture to a room? If you find yourself answering “yes” to these questions, a career in Interior Redesign and Home Staging may be just the right path for you! If you are wondering why you should choose Redesign Right to assist you, here are three primary aspects that set the program apart from the rest:
The Redesign Right program offers FUN hands-on education. Since designers are kinesthetic learners and do best in a hands-on environment, they have a difficult time learning in front of a computer and require rolling up their sleeves and moving furniture to learn the design basics. In this program, you will work hands-on in 3 client homes to practice the classroom instruction. Similar to the TV shows our clients leave, we do our magic, and then the client returns for the big reveal! The reaction is often the favorite part of the class! The hands-on experience in homes is what makes our program unique and one of only a few training programs in the country that offer this feature.
The Redesign Right training program provides a double certification in Interior Redesign AND Home staging. Having these certifications in both studies allows you to offer a full-service redesign and home staging business to your clients. Also, our program produces stronger home stagers because we teach intense decorating and redesign principles as a basis of home staging.
Industry Expert Debbie Correale has been a professional and respected trainer for three national industry associations and has been training for over nine years. Debbie also runs a profitable redesign and home staging business and has been in business over thirteen years. With this real hands-on knowledge, she is a competent trainer and an active mentor. As many of her past students can attest, the class is fun, intense, informative, and Debbie is always available to them long after the class ends.

“Can’t get the thoughts of our class out of my mind and thought you should know that! It was the first time in a very long time that I did something for me. You and your class were the most rewarding experience ever. What I’ve learned and all that you’ve shared will be a part of me always.Thank you again for opening my eyes to a whole new world, valuing my talent, and the confidence to think outside of the box. Your inspiration, motivation, and friendship are immeasurable! In friendship & business, Laura H.”
“Thank you so much for an amazing week! I knew I’d love your course. However, I had no idea how impactful and empowering it would be! You are a fabulous instructor as well as a home stager and redesigner! I wish you continued success! You are truly changing people’s lives for the better one house at a time! Kind Regards, Amanda B.”
In this week’s decorating article, I wanted to focus on the coffee table or any small table and review the elements of design. Clear off your surface and take a look at your room, what colors did you want to accentuate? Now, walk around your home and start gathering items together don’t get too fussy about this process, think of your home as Home Goods and you’re perusing the aisles and pick up things you like. Now, have some fun and put things together into a vignette. You don’t want too many items, think in counts of three for the best balance. Depending on the size of your surface will help you decide how many accessories you can combine. You will want to vary height, textures, and metals.
