5 Reasons to Sign Up for the Redesign Right Program

StudentsHave you reached a point in your life where you are now ready to do something for yourself? Are you eager to start making money at something that you love? I have offered a successful Interior Redesign and Home Staging Training program for close to 15 years now. In that time, I’ve heard all the reasons why someone wants to take a training program, and their hesitations. If you are someone who has tossed around the idea that you would like to pursue a career in interior decorating, let me address some concerns you may have.

5 Reasons why you should sign up for the Redesign Right Training Program:

  1. The class size is capped at six students; each person is guaranteed personalized training and hands-on experience. In other words, you are not watching with a group of 25 students as one person is the only one with a hands-on activity.
  2. In each 5-day course, there is classroom training, learning techniques of the trade, working with real fabric swatches, paint chips, and accessories and working onsite, redesigning three local client homes.
  3. As a ten-time award winning interior redesigner, home stager, and trainer, running a successful Interior Redesign and Home Staging business with over 15 years experience I have a proven track record as a professional in this field which places me in a perfect spot to be your mentor.
  4. You will walk away from the 5-day class understanding how to get started and be a successful business owner. What does that entail? You will learn how to market yourself and work with potential clients and find out how to ask for the money that you deserve. Remember, because you have a natural talent that comes easily to you does not mean that you should not charge, it means you should be making money doing what you love to do!
  5. As the owner of Redesign Right, I do all of the training and working with you during the class. I am available to you to ask questions long after the class is over.

Isn’t it your time to shine? Perhaps your kids have moved on, or you want to make money at something that you enjoy, or you are simply tired of the same job you have done for years and need a creative job that offers you the opportunity to earn a living. Whatever your personal situation is at this time, I guarantee that the Redesign Right Program can fulfill your requirements. Take a step, give me a call 610.955.8202 if you have any questions about the program. I would love to have you join us! Click here to view the upcoming training schedule. Learn Interior Decorating, Design and Home Staging with Debbie Correale

Training for your own BusinessAs a reader of my decorating articles, you are probably drawn to my site because you enjoy decorating or appreciate decorating trends and tips. If you are someone who has a special knack for interior design and decorating, have you ever considered turning it into a career? Do you find yourself obsessed with HGTV shows and think, “I would love to do that!” Starting an interior decorating / design and home staging business may be the next best life move for you!

I find decorators are a tactile group of people who can “visualize” how the room should be arranged. How often have you been at a friend’s house and imagine what a room could look like if only you could move some pieces around and add a few accessories? This hands-on approach brings creative types joy, and we love all aspects of the decorating process. As a program trainer with over a decade of training experience and hundreds of students, I understand the value of a hands-on approach and have many testimonials backing up my program’s techniques. You may find online courses, or a downloadable eBook, which may offer you a few tips and probably a lot of frustration.

In my hands-on training program, you are learning the tools and techniques of the trade in classrooms and real client homes. You can ask one-on-one questions, touch, feel and move things around a home. You will be assigned projects to select fabric and paint color, gaining more practical experience. Another benefit of this hands-on class is working with other like-minded students who you can collaborate with potentially on future projects. After the class is over, I am always available to answer questions.

Too often at the beginning of the year, we consider the idea of taking on a new career, why not choose to invest in yourself this year and do what you love! Here’s my upcoming training schedule:

What happens during a redesign?

Sitting AreaIn my last Interior Redesign and Home Staging class, I hired a friend to come in and take photos during the redesign. Afterward, she was telling me about the things she learned, and I asked her if she wouldn’t mind writing an article for me that I could share with my readers. It’s fun to hear from an outside observer, and here are her words:

It’s hard work doing a redesign.

Have you watched those design in a day shows where they come in with new furniture and accessories and create a stunning result? Debbie’s challenge is that she works with what the homeowner already owns and has to produce a stunning result in a day! Debbie’s trained eye scans the house for any items, always looking for the right material, color and size to use in a room. The team of redesigners works with what the homeowner already owns, plus any items that they may have purchased for the redesign. Debbie updates the room and offers a fresh look, and the result is incredible to see.

There’s a reason when a room doesn’t look right.

There are rules for where things should and should not be placed. Never in my life have I seen people agonize over an angle of where the couch should go. There are good reasons for this level of striving to get it right; it affects the overall look. To you or I, we eyeball things and decide if it looks good or not. We may not know why or we simply are never happy with the way it looks. There are guidelines to use for size, color, and placement and though I don’t know what the rules are seeing the finished result from a professional redesigner has made me very appreciative of those rules!

Hanging items on the wall should be measured.

I watched a group of redesigners as they planned out, measured, and appropriately hung a gallery wall that looked stunning when completed. Each picture was measured and hung with specific procedures, it was incredible to see the process, and it made me appreciate that just winging it, which has been my general motto, is not the best way to hang anything.

The reveal is just like on TV.

Imagine leaving your house in the morning leaving everything bare, and all your accessories piled in one room and coming home to a different home. It was the most beautiful thing to watch the expression of absolute disbelief as they walk around their house, seeing all of their wonderful things, placed in a fresh and useful arrangement. I’ll have to admit, even a little emotional.

Redesign RightThank you for your contribution! I always love to hear from other people and listen to what they are thinking and seeing. Organizing and Storage Ideas

shutterstock_91914161As we wind down the holidays and approach a New Year, it’s a good time to reevaluate the things around us. For many of us, we will soon be packing up and storing our holiday decorations. During this period I highly recommend going through the process of asking yourself for each item that you carefully pack away, “Do I love this?” or “Does this bring me joy?” If you find yourself answering “No” to these questions, choose to dispose if it is tattered and falling apart or consider giving the item to a charity foundation. Taking this action will accomplish many things. One, it will make you feel better. Two, by getting rid of things you remove clutter and free up space. Three, if you are giving things away, you bring joy to someone else.

For all the items that you are choosing to save, you will want to pack carefully, label and organize them for next year. Be sure to pack all the things that go together in the same container. I found some great tips from Better, Homes & Garden to help you with this process, click here to view.

If you find yourself storing things haphazardly, you will be very frustrated when you go to decorate next year. I suggest heading to one of your local home stores such as Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Target and pick up some storage products. Or check out the online site, Overstock for many discounted storage options, click here to view.

I also recommend The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up:  The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. After reading it, I had a whole new approach to organizing and how you look and live with your “things.” Check it out as I think you would enjoy it!

Enjoy this last week of December as you ready yourself for the new year! If you are interested in pursuing a new career in Interior Redesign and Home Staging, I have published my new training schedule, click here to view! I would love the opportunity to discuss any questions you may have, give me a call 610.955.8202! Best wishes for a beautifully designed 2016!

What is a redesign and why do I need one?

Welcome to October and this beautiful Fall Season!  Being from New England, I love the changing of the leaves and all the vibrant colors that surround us.  As we embrace Fall and start to think about the holiday season, guests and entertaining do any of these statements resonate with you?

  • I have relatives coming soon I have to get this house pulled together!
  • I can’t stand my guest room.  It has become the dumping ground of all things that we want to keep and don’t know what to do with, I have to get it organized!
  • My paint is over 10 years old, I’ve got to do something but I don’t know what and I can’t choose a color, I have no idea where to start.
  • I have some beautiful things from my grandparents, sitting in storage, and I would really like to incorporate the items into my living space but I don’t know how.

If you find yourself thinking about any one of these topics I have the solution for you!  A redesign!  Now you might be asking yourself, “What is a redesign?”  Let me explain …

Redesign Collage

What is a redesign?

First, we would schedule a one-to-one consultation.  This is where I meet you and your home. During this time, we would go over some of the challenges within your home.  After learning about your lifestyle, tastes, hopes and dreams; I would find out how you use your space and how you would like to use it.  Working within your budget and time frame and using what you own, I can help establish a strong foundation that flows with the proper accessories that create pop and excitement.  By integrating your treasured items into the décor, I can help preserve individuality and reflect your personality.  By keeping within your budget, using what you already own and love, I can transform a space from one that is dull and uninteresting to an area that you will fall in love with again all in one day!

What’s involved in a Paint Color Consultation?

As part of the initial consultation if you wish to decide on a paint color, I can help you imagine and create the perfect paint palette for your entire home using over 8,000 paint swatches, which I will help you narrow down to two or three samples to choose from.  The color of the paint in a room has a powerful and direct physical effect on people.  Many people are color sensitive and do not realize the impact color has on them.  Often times choosing a paint color is not about matching the color to a sofa but how a color makes you feel.  Choosing color for a home is one of the most crucial decorating decisions you will make, it can determine whether you will feel comfortable or uncomfortable in your home.

If you would like to transform your space into a home that you love again before the relatives come, call 610.955.8202 to schedule an appointment with Debbie!

Testimonials:

“Wow, this room is a 100% improvement. I love sitting in the room now. Debbie, you are a true artist and very gifted. Without a doubt, this has been the most important investment to our home.” –Nicole, West Chester

“We love the entire room and now have more room to sit. Love it, Love it. Debbie you’re so easy and fun to work with! Thank you.” –Susan, Wilmington, DE
